Advisor to IHRA Chair & Simon Wiesenthal Center Director for Latin America - Lawyer – Faculty of Law, University of Buenos Aires. - Since 2015, he directs the office of the Simon Wiesenthal Center for Latin America. - Advisor to the Chair of the International Holocaust Remembrance Alliance (IHRA) - Permanent Observer to the Organization of American States (OAS) and the Latin American Parliament (PARLATINO). - Former Member of the Advisory Body of the Commissioner for the Monitoring and Combating of Antisemitism of the OAS. - Sole Latin American delegate representing Civil Society on the IHRA Committee on Antisemitism and Holocaust Denial (International Holocaust Remembrance Alliance) - Promoter of the adoption of the IHRA Working Definition of Antisemitism by various public and private institutions in Latin America, including the OAS, the Latin American Parliament, the Argentina Congress, the National Universities of Buenos Aires, Cuyo, and Tucumán, and the Argentine Football Association, as well as the states of Goiânia and Rondônia in Brazil. - He has spoken at a wide range of forums, notably the House of Lords in the British Parliament, the Argentine and Brazilian National Congresses, and the National Assembly of Costa Rica; and has published numerous articles in journalistic and specialized media. - Author of the book "ANTISEMITISM: Defining to Combat ", available in Spanish and English. - Recipient of the 2025 ANNE FRANK Award for his ongoing fight against antisemitism, racism, xenophobia, discrimination, and terrorism. - Creator and host of the series "Stories of Jewish History", with more than 100 episodes aired between 2020 and 2022. - Host of the streaming series “Justo en el Centro” (Straight to the Center), a program by the Simon Wiesenthal Center Latin America addressing a broad range of topics related to justice, historical memory, and the fight against hate speech and discrimination between 2024 and 2025 - Together with the journalist Dario Mizrahi host of the weekly TV space “In the Frontline” in Dnews since 2026
Dr. Sergio J. Zigelbaum
Partner, Pastoriza, Alcayaga, Zigelbaum & Palazuelos, Attorneys at Law. Born Buenos Aires, Argentina, 1967; admitted to the Bar, 1999. In 2023, acting on behalf of his father Carlos (Koppel) Zigelbaum — a Holocaust survivor — and in his own right, filed a criminal complaint in Buenos Aires against Roger Waters for antisemitism, discrimination and incitement to racial hatred; the case was admitted by the Buenos Aires Criminal Court and constituted one of the first formal judicial proceedings in Latin America invoking the IHRA Working Definition of Antisemitism as a legal standard.
